Ashurst Art Collection Committee Member Application
The Ashurst Art Collection Committee or AACC (chaired by Anna Delgado) selects the artworks for the Ashurst Art Collection on display each year in the London HQ on the 4th floor. The artworks are proposed by the curator (Conrad Carvalho, Oaktree & Tiger), and then presented to the committee for comments and feedback. A selection of artworks will also be proposed by the curator for acquisition for the permanent collection.
The Ashurst Art Collection, or AAC, aims to benefit the London office building and colleagues, and also inspire discussion and engagement with clients and visitors. It is also far more than just a corporate collection of art; it is a platform for supporting emerging artists by promoting a growing list of artworks and creatives, and a platform to educate and engage Ashurst's audiences. In addition, it offers a discount to Ashurst employees, alumni and clients to acquire the artworks at the end of the annual period.
The AACC consists of up to 15 members, selected from candidates that apply by 16th April 2023 using the form below. We aim to confirm the applications by 21st April 2023. No art knowledge, experience or previous involvement is required. We are keen to have a wide representation of Ashurst people, and those that advocate supporting emerging artists and art at Ashurst. We want the process to be educational for AACC members too, and the curator is available to help with any questions. Its very important to us to hear your thoughts and questions, so that you can affect your office environment and you will likely represent the audience of viewers.
Our expectations and requirements of AACC Members are:
Position lasts until the end of the period, in this case until early 2024
Join us for a guided tour of the collection and to discuss artworks for acquisition on Tuesday 25th April, 6pm on the 4th Floor
Review and give feedback on the collection proposal to be emailed to you in early 2023
Attend one or two meetings in 2023, to discuss and select the artworks for year period July 2023 - June 2024 (this may be in person or via online/video call, it may be in groups or individually)
Complete the feedback form for the collection period end. in early 2024
Be an advocate for the collection and its artists
If you have any questions at all, or would like to discuss with the curator, feel free to email us at team@oaktreeandtiger.com
